Room In The Inn is Rooted in Hope

Room In The Inn is Nashville’s only single site of services for the homeless, connecting individuals to a wide array of integrated services that safely and intentionally address multi-faceted and ever-evolving needs. On a daily basis, Room In The Inn offers a comprehensive set of services and programs focused on health, education, employment, and housing.

Today, we have the opportunity to grow up from these roots: to reach for and realize our vision for a true campus dedicated to changing the landscape of homelessness in Middle Tennessee. Thanks to the collective generosity of our community, we are able to work together to foster a better and more stable future for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

In this spirit, we are happy to announce Phase One of a campaign aimed at completing the footprint for Room In The Inn’s downtown campus and directly meeting a need for more affordable housing for our vulnerable neighbors.

Room In The Inn truly has moved the needle in these areas. We have taken advantage of opportunities and blessings: some unexpected and some the clear result of strategic planning and long-nurtured relationship building. In the past year and a half, Room In The Inn has acquired two properties adjacent to our main building: Drexel House and 8th & Drexel. see map below

The Drexel House filled an immediate need during the pandemic by providing expanded space for support services, education, and shelter. The property at 8th & Drexel relieves an immediate need for parking and completes the campus footprint, which gives us flexibility for future planning. In addition to securing the adjacent properties, we are beginning a renovation project that will add 10 new affordable housing units, expand community/wellness spaces and laundry facilities, improve our education space, as well as make key capital improvements to our existing facilities.

Please join us as we work to secure the funds to pay off the purchase of the property and complete the renovations to add the 10 new affordable housing units.
